NIA arrests Pulwama youth for being in touch with Jaish militant on phone | KNO

Srinagar, July 29 (KNO) : The National Investigating Agency (NIA) today said that it has arrested a youth from from Tral area of Pulwama district for being in touch with a Jaish militant over phone. In a statement issued to KNO, the NIA said that in case RC 08/2019/NIA/DLI dated 15/3/2019, it arrested one FIR named accused Muzaffar Bhat alias Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat, 25 years, r/o Village Monghama, Tehsil Tral, District Pulwama, member of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), a proscribed militant organization. Accused Muzaffar Bhat @ Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat was brought from Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu, where he has been detained under Public Safety Act, and produced before Special Court NIA, New Delhi today against a production warrant. NIA court has granted 09 days’ of NIA custody of the said accused (up to 07.08.2019). Investigation has disclosed that Muzzaffar Bhat @ Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat was in regular contact with the main accused Muddassir Ahmad (now dead) over WhatsApp during the relevant period. “This case pertains to a criminal conspiracy by top leadership of JeM based in Pakistan to strengthen bases of JeM in India, by recruiting persons for carrying out terrorist acts in India. NIA had earlier arrested three accused viz Sajjad Ahmed Khan, Bilal Mir and Tanveer Ahmed Ganie in this case who are now in judicial custody,” the statement said.(KNO)
